Ocracoke : There are pictures from our summer vacations on Ocracoke Island, NC. It is below Cape Hatteras and can only be reached by ferry, boat or small plane. The complete island except for the village on the sound side is National Seashore so the beaches are void of any buildings etc. It was named the number one beach in the US in 2007. We found some stretches where we'll be the only ones for over at least half a mile in either direction. Most of the pictures were taken in the middle of the summer and you can see how few people, if any, are on the beach.

Sharon's Birthday : For Sharon's 60th birthday, I arranged a surprise gathering of Paige, her Mom, Margaret, and sister, Judy, to come down for the weekend (4/11-15/2008. Paige meet them in Boston and flew down with them. I picked them up in the Charlottesville and then surprised Sharon at Student Health when I normally pick her up. She was totally surprised. Took them down to Colin's house in Christiansburg and then Colin and Becca came home with us for the weekend. Had a another surprise party for Sharon on Sunday with some of her friends and neighbors.

Sharon's Mom's 85th birthday : On October 24, 2008 Sharon and I flew up to Boston and drove up to Vermont to calibrate her Mom's 85th birthday. After arriving in Boston we went over to Framingham to see Paiges's new house. Unfortunately she was at work so we could only look around the outside and peek in the windows. On Saturday, Judy came and then on Sunday, Paige and Peter and Leigh came for dinner and cake. We came home on Monday.
